Frequently Asked Questions

How did you come up with such a great idea?!

Not our idea! It’s a model that’s worked really well in a bunch of places including by our neighbors in Carlisle, Lebanon, Lancaster, West Philly, and North Baltimore.

Over the past decade, several people have tried to start one in Harrisburg. Our current team just happened to have the right conditions to make it happen.

Wait. What if people steal all your tools?

A fair question! In practice, tool libraries rarely have issues with theft. Our members take pride in caring for shared tools, and we keep track of what’s checked out just in case.

How do you plan on staying open?

Memberships, sponsorships, and grants. Mostly the first one.
